Christmas Wish List

I am only wishing for two things this year for christmas. Short and sweet. Have you noticed that when you have your own income you just buy the things you want yourself and your Christmas list gets shorter and shorter.

I have been looking for a pair of boots for months now. Every time I know exactly what I want it is almost impossible to find. When I saw these boots on http://disarmingdarling.blogspot.com I thought "that is it. Those are the boots." I looked up the brand ,Vagabond, in hopes that they were from this season and possible to buy them online.  They were and now on sale my last hopes are that my wonderful husband is loving enough to get them for a Christmas present for me.
I have been learning a new language over the last few Years. I am now at the point where books like "Charlie and the Chocolate factory" are a possible read for me. When learning a new language you begin to realize that when things are translated some times the meaning is lost in translation. Therefor the original thought behind the words become lost. In books like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" it may not be so important if you mix up the words 'chocolate bar' with 'chocolate candy' when translating. But with books like "Anne Franks Diary" when you mix up words like funny and a good time, witch Dutch people often do, the meaning of the sentence changes and maybe even the tone of the entire chapter.  I have read "Anne Franks Diary" when I was about thirteen but now I feel I am capable of reading it in the original language, Dutch,  and understanding it all.  This is a huge excitement for me. To read the original words and get the true meaning behind them without any thought that may be lost in translation.  So that is why "Het Achterhuis" made it on to my christmas wish list.

100 Years of Style

Being a true lover of vintage fashion this clip makes me want to get out my sketch pad and design something.  I gain a lot of my inspiration in my designs through vintage fashion. Sometimes I wish I could live in another time just to be able to be dressed head to toe in the styles from that period without feeling like I am dressed for Halloween. But deciding on a era would be difficult. Would I choose the flapper look of the 20's, the Hollywood glamor look of the 30's and 40's,  the mod styles of the 60's, or the grunge look of the 70's? I truly don't know because I love the all.
